Successful Thailand Teacher Workshops 2011

Congratulations to all the VESL volunteers who ran the teacher workshop programme in Northern Thailand this summer.  The five volunteers, Dick and Dee Wardell, Sarah Greenwood, Laura Heathfield and Lisa Gornall all did a fantatstic job and were warmly praised by all the teachers they worked with.

The team ran a series of two day workshops for local teachers in three provinces – Phayao, Phrae and Chiang Rai.  The workshops included sessions on Communication, listening and language, giving instructions and promoting Thailand.

Feedback after the workshops from the Thai teachers included:

‘Excellent training, thanks you Lisa, Laura, Dick, Dee and Sarah’ – Phayao Teacher

‘I would like to say thank you for your kindness for coming here to teach us English skills which I will now use in the classroom’ – Chaing Rai Teacher

‘I really enjioyed the 2 days and found them very useful.  Please come again!’ – Phrae Teacher

VESL is looking to recruit volunteers with experience of teaching to take part in the next programme we hope to organise for summer 2012…  If you’d like to receive more info about those plans please email enquiries@vesl.org
