We are extremely pleased to announce that two past volunteers have joined the VESL team.

'Drinking King Coconut' (Kath McGuire), Sri Lanka, 2009

Kath McGuire has come on board as a ‘Web Content Editor‘.

Kath will be helping to produce material for Blog section of VESL’s new website on topics including general advice for new volunteers heading overseas, English teaching tips and ESL resource suggestions.

Kath was a volunteer in Sri Lanka in 2009.  She returned as an in-country co-ordinator and helped to establish new projects in Kerala in 2010/11 and Sri Lanka in 2011.  Kath is now back in the UK, studying PGDE Secondary Maths at Edinburgh University.

Caroline Abbotts, Thailand, 2008

Caroline Abbotts has joined the team as a ‘Past Volunteer Liaison‘.

Caroline will be producing a newsletter for us which we aim to be able to send out to past VESL volunteers and other interested parties later in the year. We’re also hoping to serialise some of Caroline’s articles on the website within the Blog section of the site – watch this space…

Caroline was a volunteer in Thailand in 2008, teaching English in Chiang Rai (Northern Thailand).  You can see some of Caroline’s photos from her time teaching english in Thailand with VESL in our Photo Gallery section.
