Why Volunteer with VESL
What makes VESL different from many of the other organisations sending volunteers overseas?
VESL is a registered charity & is not run for profit.
VESL works closely with host communities and local education departments to identify worthwhile projects before matching volunteers' skills and experiences to them.
VESL only runs projects where it knows its volunteers will make a real difference.
VESL is run almost entirely by volunteers and is therefore able to keep overheads to a bare mininum whilst upholding a passionate commitment to running projects that are not only rewarding and fun but benificial to host communities.
VESL asks its volunteers to contibute towards the costs of their placement, but costs are kept to a minimum and are much lower than other organisations sending volunteers overseas.
VESL aims to give volunteers the best possible experience overseas. Comprehensive training provides all volunteers with the confidence and skills to help them make a difference and ongoing in-country support is provided to ensure volunteer saftey.
