India is fast becoming one of the most influential countries in the world and is a fascinating place to volunteer and travel in.
India is a treat for all the senses and the diverse culture and landscape means that the more time you spend there, the more you want to stay and make sense of this unpredictable country. Volunteers returning from India have enthused about the contrasting culture and the numerous sights and new experiences they have had the privilege to witness and be involved in.
Currently VESL is sending volunteers to work in the Andhra Pradesh state in the south-east of the county. The projects have been based in rural communities, most of them near to the Indian Ocean.
The volunteers have benefitted from deviating from the tourist trail and experiencing the 'real' India. In the future we hope to develop projects in Tamil Nadu and Northern India.
