Subsidised Programme Costs

VESL is a charity (no 1117908) and every step is taken to keep costs to a minimum, however, we do need to ask volunteers to contribute towards the cost of the programme.

We are asking volunteers to contribute £750 towards the 2010 programme.

This heavily subsidised contribution covers :

  • UK based training & content dev. forum
  • in-country arrival induction
  • all internal travel to workshops (inc. internal flights)
  • accommodation throughout programme
  • comprehensive travel, medical & liabilities insurance
  • programme setup and co-ordination costs
  • in-country backup and support

Please note - Volunteers must cover their own return flights & visa.

Funding Your Placement

VESL provides a 'Guide to Fundraising' including case studies and advice on how to make a success of fundraising and access resources such as the Just Giving website.

Previous volunteers have successfully raised their full contribution through a variety of personal fundraising and applications to local teaching councils for CPD grants or to British Council funds.

Many schools are also keen to support teachers' fundraising activities.

How to apply

Interviews for the workshop programme will take place at events in November, January & March.

Please apply early to avoid disappointment; don't hesitate to contact us by email (enquiries@vesl.org) or telephone (0845 094 3727) if you have any questions.
