Our volunteer, Bob, who is currently in Sri Lanka applied to the Wild Fund for money to create English signs to go around the school he is volunteering in. It was felt by the staff and by Bob that exposure to English on a daily basis would benefit the children in their studying of the language. Today we received a lovely message from Bob:
“The Principal, teachers, pupils and parents of the school have asked me to convey their thanks to VESL and the Wild fund for providing the funds to purchase a complete set of English signs for the school. This is a photo of some pupils from Grade 9 showing a sample of the signs which are now going up all over the school.”
