SUMMER PROGRAMMES COME TO A CLOSE

The 2006 summer programme has now come to a close. We are very pleased to say that all of the feedback we have received from schools, head teachers and our volunteers has been very positive and extremely encouraging.

We would like to send thanks to all our volunteers, both those on the ground in Sri Lanka and all those back here in the UK that continue to help behind the scenes and make it possible for us to keep doing what we do.

A number of special thanks also need to be made; a very large thank you must go to our teaching training workshop team – 180 Sri Lankan teachers took part in this year’s workshops and the feedback has been fantastic from the teachers and the Ministry of Education; a special thanks must go to the Mundys [our in-country representatives] for all their efforts and continued support – all your time and help is extremely appreciated; we would also like to send an enormous thank you to Jess Andrews [this year’s in-country co-ordinator] for her tireless commitment to making this year such a success; last but not least, we would like to thank those in the Sri Lankan Ministry of Education who have supported us throughout the years and made it possible for us to make such a difference.
